My Biggest Lessons from Creating 6 Online Courses

I've created six different online courses and in today's video I'm going to share with you the biggest lessons I learned from each so my very first course was called website that Wows and this taught entrepreneurs how to build their very own client winning website in Squarespace so because this was my first course it taught me so much I learned how to take my knowledge and turn that into online course format how to film my lessons edit them and figure out all of the tech involved in that but the very first time I attempted to sell this online course I got zero sales and was absolutely devastated what I needed to learn here was how you actually market and sell an online course I was seeing people on Instagram make a post and make a bunch of sales and think that that was it that was the whole story turns out no there's a lot more happening behind the scenes which is now what I aim to share with you in a lot of my work so there Key Systems you need in place in order to actually sell your online course at the time I think I sent about two emails which now I wouldn't expect to be very effective so this was a hard but very important lesson to learn and it made selling all of my future courses so much easier it took me a while actually to get comfortable with marketing myself and selling my program so if that is something you've struggled with as well don't worry it is absolutely normal I'll put a link to a video I just did on this in the description below where you can understand more of these systems that are involved my next online course was uplevel with auna and this taught entrepreneurs how to organize and streamline their business with the project management tool assana this one taught me that as long as I keep learning and evolving I will always have a course I can create and something that I can teach others so as my business was growing after creating website the Wows I realized that I could no longer run my business from a p planner or if we're being honest a bunch of Post-its around my desk it was here that systems became more and more important and I realized that if I had a project management system as the base of my business I could make it so much more simple so much more efficient and profitable after some time of learning a sauna and developing the system I was then able to launch up level with a sauna so as you continue to grow and evolve there are going to be so many courses and digital products that you can create the would help other people my next online course was scale with cartra and this is where I taught entrepreneurs how to leverage the powerful sales and marketing tool cartra in order to grow their business for this course I learned the power of pre-selling and documenting a program coming to life so rather than just creating my course behind the scenes and not telling anyone that I was doing it instead I took a different strategy so what I did was actually documented each step of of the way so if I was creating a lesson I would share that on Instagram stories if I was putting together an outline for a lesson I would share that this allowed me to bring people along for the journey with me and build excitement for that product so now it is a strategy that I would absolutely incorporate for any new online course that I want to create but I didn't just document and share behind the scenes of the product coming to life I also pre-sold it this is a highly effective strategy this means that you are actually going to sell your course to validate that there is demand before you create it cuz it can take quite a bit of time in order to film all of your lessons and put your course together so what you don't want to do is go ahead and do that before you know that you've gotten your marketing and your messaging correct for that particular program and that people actually want it so that's exactly what I did for this one I sold it before I actually created did this allowed me to confirm yes people want this course yes I should invest my time and energy into it and it really helped give me that confidence from a very early stage my next course was called 90-day growth strategy where I helped entrepreneurs create a highly effective 90day sales system in their businesses now at this stage in my business I wanted to experiment with a live program I wanted to see what would happen if I were to teach alongside of my students and release content every single week rather than what I had done up to this point which was pre-record lessons and put them into a course area for people to watch at their own time now this was amazing because it allowed me to get really close with those students and go really deep with them on their sales and marketing however it didn't solve all problems like I thought it would so that's the main thing that I learned when you do a live program they can absolutely be fantastic but you also run the risk of students feeling behind and getting discouraged so often they are positioned as being way better than Evergreen pre-recorded courses where everything is available for you to watch but they have their own challenges so with a live program you run the risk of students feeling behind but with a pre-recorded course you're allowing people to learn and Implement on their own time so both have pros and cons and it's not as simple as one is totally better than the other my next course was my YouTube Sprint where I taught entrepreneurs how to use YouTube to Market their business and grow their sales this one taught me that courses don't always have to be massive that short actionable programs are super valuable as well so this course isn't as big as my other ones but it's still a fantastic course it's quick it's to the point and it helps people take action which is ultimately what you want your courses to do so yeah I love this course the main lesson is is don't be afraid to narrow in on a core specific area and create smaller courses around that and finally my next course was passive profit accelerator where I taught people how to create their own online courses and automated sales system PBA taught me that once you have something that works you can repeat most of it and just strengthen it a bit each time so for example I have a launch system for PPA which I've been able to use over and over again and since we are all busy that is so helpful to not be starting from scratch all the time so rather than having to create brand new emails brand new social posts every single time I could repeat a lot of it and then just strengthen it by adding in more testimonials more case studies you can just keep strengthening and refining what is already working so those are my biggest Lessons Learned let me know any questions that have come up in the comments down below thank you so much for watching if you like this video let me know by giving it a thumbs up and I'll see you real soon with another video bye
