Conscious Business Design – Miles Beckler’s Keynote Speech From Nomad Cruise 13

greetings from The Nomad Cruise I'm currently in ketan Alaska on a cruise ship that's headed from Vancouver British Columbia all the way to Tokyo Japan with 300 digital Nomads and digital entrepreneurs and this is the talk that I shared in my keynote speech yesterday that I wanted to get here on YouTube for you so the concept is conscious business design specifically how can you build a business that offers you the maximum lifestyle Freedom that offers you the maximum cash flow with a minimum amount of time invested so you can live the life of your dreams now I've been in this game for a very long time I made my first dollar online in 2003 as an affiliate marketer on MySpace so I've seen many different platforms strategies and tactics come and go over the years and there has been one Central Focus One Core concept that I've used strategically within my business to be able to weather all of the storms and to be able to consciously ignore all of the hype that many of the gurus out there say like trying to keep up with the Vayner Chucks and those people who say that you need to be on all of the platforms at all of the time and then you feel like you're just on a Content treadmill working 40 to 60 hour weeks and maybe your business isn't growing whereas my wife and I have generated millions and millions of dollars in Revenue with our simple little business that you're learning here today and the first real key that I want to share with you is the overarching philosophy and strategy behind our success and that is from a simple quote from Zig Ziggler that you can have anything you want in your life if you just help enough other people get what they want now we're going to talk about things like conversions we're going to talk about things like sales and advertising but you need to remember that if your product doesn't truly help other people get what they want you'll never build a long-term successful business so always keep their needs at the Forefront of your mind uh this is counter to how most people try to enter the world of online business where they're trying to figure out how to get from the internet how can I go get money from people on the internet that never works long time because it's not in alignment with the law of attraction or the biblical law of reaping and sewing it's also not necessarily in line with quantum physics if you understand how that all works but when you build your business based around around giving of yourself of being of service and focusing on helping people get what they truly want that is when you will find the success that you ultimately desire so this brings up the question how do we help people get what they want on autopilot without grinding it out on the content treadmill for 40 hours plus per week well it's what I call Direct response marketing and in order to embark on the Journey of direct response marketing there's really only three things that you need to figure out now now I know that there are four images on this one slide here but if you notice two of them are offers so ultimately you need to figure out the game of traffic you need to figure out the game of offers and you need to figure out the game of email marketing now the reason we call it direct response marketing is because in each and every one of these systems you're always asking people to take some sort of an action right uh if people watch your video on YouTube you can ask them if they would like to go get your free course and you can link them over to your opt-in page and if they like your opt-in page you can ask them if they would like to buy one of your low ticket offers and if they buy that offer you can ask them if they would like to buy more and often times you'll see one or 2% conversions on these because most people aren't ready but it's always about directly asking for a response in that moment there now the key out of all of those four slides right the key out of all those four Images the number one most important important piece of this is email marketing so remember that the money is in the list and that does bring us to the ultimate question of how do you big how do you build a big list a responsive list of hungry buyers Without Really spending a bunch of money out of your pocket the First Tool in my tool boox and we're going to go through two separate tools here today is what I call self-liquidating offers now said succinctly this means selling your stuff through advertising or through the content and traffic that you already already have when you can build a system where you can have an advertisement that sends people over to a sales letter and enough of those people purchase that product that you generate enough Revenue to cover for the cost of ads you have a self-perpetuating system that you can just simply cycle that same $100 through time and time again because the time it takes for someone to click on your ad to read your offer and to make their decision is measured in minutes so this is how I went from originally starting with $5 $10 per day in Facebook advertising and I was able to grow my advertising budget without having to keep putting money into the system right another way of saying this is you want to build a system that allows you to ultimately grow your customer list by playing with house money and then you make all your lifestyle profits on the back end so this system we're looking at and talking about here will grow you a customer list and the actual sales from that front-end product are what pay for the advertisement to grow that list and then all of the affiliate offers the consulting or coaching offers or the additional workshops or Co coach uh courses excuse me that you'll present those offers via email that's where you make all of your lifestyle money that allows you to pay for mortgages to live life on your terms the second example example of this is ultimately adding one step to what we just covered which is an opt-in page and this is what we call a self-liquidating funnel and this is where you run an advertisement to an opt-in page and when they opt in two things happen number one you redirect them to an oot page and that stands for onetime offer this is where you present your hottest prospects right those leads who just said yes to your opt-in offer you present them with an opportunity to purch just one of your best products and I generally recommend that you're reducing your price on those products as much as you feel comfortable with we often discount these products for our otos by 60 70 or even 80% to try to give them a wonderful value on one of our best performing products that we know is going to help them get results right because that's the overarching philosophy that makes this work and then we make all of our money on the back end because we're able to send offers whether they're a affiliate offers or our offers to our email list that is full of leads and we're also able to send those offers to the customers who purchase our otos and one of the keys to think about is that none of this is new okay what we're actually doing is we're operating a very old school business model and this advertisement you see here on the left why models stay young till 60 this was run in 1973 and it sold this book you see here on the right she sold over 60,000 copies of this book now this is her frontend offer and then she went on to sell people everything from skin cream to weight loss supplements to other kinds of hair care and makeup supplies all of the things that she knew these women who were interested in staying beautiful and looking young later into life and she actually became a very early Pioneer of e-commerce and from this one successful product that she launched in the early '70s she was able to run a very successful career all the way into the 2020s so she had nearly a 40-year career based on this one focused front-end offer where she was helping people get what they want and she sold products in the 70s and 80s through direct mail through magazines and through cataloges that she sent to them and ultimately when the internet took over she started to run e-commerce shops as well so we're doing this same thing but we're using new school technology and this is uh these are some images from one of my funnels that I've run traffic to and you can see on the left we have an advertisement promoting my free email marketing book you can see the landing page or the opt-in page that they go to when they click on that Facebook ad and then on the right you see that they have the opportunity to purchase my templates that will make it very helpful or make it very easy for them it will help them build their list faster in case they're one of those people who want to invest $5 in a lovely bundle of templates that will help them get the result that they want quickly now remember in this scenario I'm focused on people who are wanting to grow their email lists they know that email marketing is the name of the game so my advertisement sorts Facebook for the people who are interested in email marketing from those who aren't then those who are interested in learning more about email marketing they see my next offer for the free ebook and those who say yes to that I make my third offer offer I know they're interested in growing their email list they've now taken action do you want the shortcut do you want the Easy Button templates that's going to help you get the results that you want yes or no this is direct response Marketing in action and this is ultimately the kind of system that we build and run and maintain uh for my wife's brand which is in the meditation and spirituality space in addition to what I do here through the miles Beckler brand you may have heard me talk about the power of comp compounding in other previous videos because this is really the magic that allows us internet entrepreneurs to get massive leverage on our side and you can see numbers here from one of my campaigns that I was running for an entire month over this past summer and in this one campaign remember I have multiple campaigns running at the same time this one campaign spent $967 on ads from that $967 on ads we generated $1,000 477 new email subscribers 19 of those people purchased the product and we generated $1,257 in Revenue now that's a 30% return on my advertising investment right there in the single month and what I didn't do was take that 30% profit the 300 or so dollars I didn't go take that and go buy some Lamborghini so I can try to flex on you on Instagram what I did is I took that $1,200 and put that right back into Facebook ads so the next month I had a larger budget by 30% and then if the numbers hold I'll get 30% more email subscribers next month and again I'll get 30% more Revenue next month take that same revenue and dump it right back into ads and this is how I've been able to snowball what started as $5 $10 per day in Facebook ads but that has now grown to me being able to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars per day in Facebook ads again without putting money out out of my pocket into the system itself right I'm not taking money out of the bank of Beckler to pump it into these ads I'm literally playing with house money in this situation but if your cash flow negative so let's say you put in ,000 or let's say you put in $100 and you only get out $75 what can you do the number one thing you can do is add a bump or an upsell offer to increase your average order value okay this is direct response 101 we are making more offers to those people who are in the checkout process to those customers who are buying what we offer you can also let your winning campaigns pay for your underperformers so generally I have multiple campaigns running at the same time some of them are cash flow positive some of them are cash flow negative but when I zoom out at the end of the month the whole pool is Break Even or better right so my winners pay for my losers and obviously I'm optimizing and I'm cutting out the worst ones and trying to add new campaigns to add more winners to the winner set and this is how again I'm able to grow and scale at the fastest rate possible and remember that you now have an email list so it's important to be sending emails to your list and you will ultimately generate a return from those emails that you send out over time so this is just kind of be patient and you'll make that money back in the future via email you can also add more offers to your autoresponder and inside of your lead magnet whether those are offers to your products or whether those are offers to affiliate products it doesn't really matter and then you get into kind of the technical geeky stuff that can make a gigantic difference in your business which is AB testing optimizing for conversions and testing different products and different combinations of products once you've got this built and optimized you own a virtual money printer that is 95% automated and the number one thing that you need to keep doing is just emailing your list a few times a week while you think up that next front-end offer or that next backend offer or you research those affiliate offers that are going to really help you help other people get what they want so let's go into a couple of examples here so you can see what this looks like in the modern day and we're going to start with just the self- liquidating offers which mean these are ads running directly to sales pages and I want you to notice how not salesy any of this is because many people are scared or they're timid when it comes to selling and promoting their products but when you know that you have a product that you're that will really help your audience you have a fiduciary duty to your audience to actually promote that to get it in front of those people who are looking for help and this is such a great example okay this is the show her off Dance Academy and you can tell by these two advertisements what they are selling is a learn how to dance atome class um you can see a couple of different types of advertisements here and this is their sales page they are promising that you'll experience Unforgettable moments with date night dancing you're going to connect laugh and have a blast at home they've got a sale that's 40% off right now and you can order now there's nothing here that's salesy there's no hype going on they're simply sorting through people on Facebook with their advertisements to find who is interested in learning how to dance at home and they're making a very clear offer that explains what you get and what it'll do for you and then they have a couple of bump offers as well so the main product for this is $67 and they have a $40 bump for night two and a $40 bump for night three so their full average or their maximum cart value excuse me is going to be about $147 and they have been scaling this offer with over $100,000 per month in ad spend for several years now they made millions of dollars with this offer here and I think it's important for you to remember that this isn't High ticket there's no Ultra Guru ninja secret going on here they're simply helping people learn how to dance and it is working wonders creating a massive cash flow engine helping them enjoy the life of their dreams and here's the next one this is a friend that I met on Nomad Cruise 2 when I crossed the Atlantic Ocean on the Nomad cruise and you can see that they have the first ad on the left is a very basic simple reel this was probably made with either AI or with a virtual assistant I want you to notice that we're not using ninja ad cop here this is simple stuff and on the right you can see that they're offering for you to discover the magic of Photography with the magical photography spell book and this is what the landing page looks like you can see at the very top they do have a countdown timer to increase some urgency and then their big promises for Creative Souls seeking inspiration you can discover the secrets of magical Still Life photography through 30 spellbinding home projects that will impress your friends it's a really powerful emotional benefit that they have there in the headline and they say our beautiful cheat sheets make it easy to start today just in case people were wondering if this is difficult nope it's nice and easy and then we see a few images that are representative of what you'll be able to create when you obtain their Spellbook and below that they just simply have some testimonials that they probably got by selling this offer to their email list is there anything sleazy or salesy or is there any hype going on here not at all people who want to be inspired with creativity and create some really cool photographs are going to be very interested in this product and folks who aren't aren't it really is that simple now let's dive in to some of the actual funnel examples we're going to add that opt-in page so you can see how we expand upon what we just created the first one is positive Performance training with Lindsay Wilson okay so she is helping coaches who coach athletes to really focus on the mindset of those athletes okay and you can see she's got two different angles but she's offering a free guide or a free cheat sheet and when you go to the landing page you can see right here it's a free download the top seven ways to develop tough focused and resilient athletes it's a cheat sheet for driven passionate coaches that know the mindset is the game you got an image of the actual cheat sheet you can see she has a video where she's showing the cheat sheet that you would get and when you click on the blue button you get the opportunity to opt in and after you opt in she shows you this offer here here and if you notice on the top bar it says that your cheat sheet is on its way to your inbox but before you go learn about her braver system and this is for the coach that knows the mental game is the game and if you remember on the previous step she already literally said that her stuff is for coaches who know the mental game is the game so they've already said yes to this big kind of outcome that they desire and right here she's selling this for $17 it's a 50% off deal I love low ticket products I have made millions of dollars selling low ticket products if you don't have some 17 27 and $47 products that you're testing I would highly recommend you begin building that out into your business because this works because it's a very easy yes and you can always sell your higher ticket stuff on the back end through email and it works better when they know you like you and trust you how do people get to know you like you and trust you well they buy your things and they get positive results so the more people you can get buying your things and getting good results the more likely you are to sell your higher ticket stuff and sell more stuff on the back end as well our next example is my friend naha Gupta I do have an interview with naha Gupta here on this channel so if you want to search for that or I'll put the link in the description of this video as well if you want to hear more about her business but she does seven figures helping high school students and ultimately their parents get those kids into the colleges of their dreams and you can see the ad on the left has a wonderful call out for parents with 11th and 12th grade children very specific okay so when someone's scrolling on Facebook if they don't have a child who's of those ages they're going to skip right past skip right past this ad if they do have a child who's in those grade levels they're going to stop and they're going to pay attention and they're probably going to watch this real or this short video that she has and they're going to read this and you can see on the right that she has a aim formula The Proven method for helping over 85,000 kids get accepted applications and here is her optin page simple she's offering the shortcut to helping kids get into the College of their dreams and it's specific for folks who are stressed about college admissions we know they're urgently looking to solve their problem because they're stressed about those College admissions this is a beautiful optin page and here's her big offer on the end this is the actual video that they opted in for right so she's giving them what they asked for and you can see the call to action is to book a one-on-one assessment with college shortcuts this is how she's actually getting high ticket coaching clients straight from one of these simple opt-in funnels in the last one you saw we did low ticket and this one right here you're seeing High ticket I wanted to be sure you see how this simple sales funnel that uses you don't need to use any of the fancy funnel builders in fact I think most of those fancy funnel Builders are not worth what they charge for them to be honest I think they're overpriced and overhyped you could do this all with WordPress or a simple landing page builder like lead Pages which is what I use the trick is to really focus on helping other people get what they want doesn't really matter what your end offer is or what level and this is our final example here this is Jerry Norton uh he's in the real estate investing space and you can see he's giving away all of the copies of his quick start kit he's anchoring a very high value for this he's got you know specific items for each of the big challenges people are looking for and as he says here with this kit you get everything you need to flip your first house in 30 days or less without cash or experience which is a beautiful headline that he has on his opt-in page this is the page that you land on if you clicked on that ad people who are not interested in real estate investing will not click on the ad but those who are land here in this headline I would recommend you take a mental snapshot of this because this is a proven old school tried and tested headline and the template that he's using here is how to get that thing that you want in specific amount of time without those frustrations that are very annoying and we use this type of template uh this type of headline in my business in my wife's business and I've seen this work in every single Niche this is a very easy offer to say yes to so it probably converts like crazy and here is their one-time offer which is for a $97 per month software tool that's going to make your life easy it's going to make it really easy to find those motivated sellers that you need to find in order to get into the world of real estate investing so here we've seen a low ticket offer using using this style we've seen a high ticket offer using this style and we've seen a software as a service a SAS product that also uses the same style that has recurring Revenue built in this works in just about every Niche it works in every Niche to be perfectly honest with you no matter what your offers are like and then the next steps how do you implement this into your business right number one you need to commit to growing and nurturing your list as a top priority you just got to focus in the moment my wife and I realized that email is the heart of every successful online business that was the moment we went all in on email and that's when everything started to shift around us so it takes that conscious focused intention for you to really willingly go down this new path of growing your list and mailing your list as the core of your business and then the first thing you really want to focus in on getting dialed in is your optin offer you should be seeing about 50% Plus of people who go see your opt-in page they should be opting in to your list if you're using a popup over top of your blog posts you're only going to see about 1 to 3% of people opt in but when you're driving people from an advertisement over to an opt-in page you should be seeing at least half of the people who land on that page should be saying yes to your offer if they're not if you're only getting a 20 or a 30% conversion rate you need to keep testing new headlines and new offers until you find those things that convert like crazy step number two you want to create and optimize a high converting front-end offer now this is just selling something okay a low ticket product with a sales letter is all you actually need and then you start by just mailing your new offer to your list did they buy it did they not buy it if nobody bought it when you mail it to your list there's no sense running ads to this there's no sense building a funnel around this so you want to start offering making your offers to the traffic that you already own own if you have it if you don't have traffic that you own you're going to create some new low ticket offers and you'll start to sell them through advertisements can you get 1% of people who land on that page to say yes and purchase if so you're on to something and you may notice that it's true 99% of people will not buy that front-end product and you can still build and optimize a successful funnel even with a one or 2% conversion rate on the front end product and when you see that conversion rate reaching those levels that's when you want to connect your opt-in page to that first front-end offer as an Otto this is ultimately building a minimum buyable funnel okay this is the self-liquidating funnel option where you then have your opt-in page link people to that onetime offer and this is where you really start to test more and more Facebook ads and as we say in the Facebook ads game you
